Twelve British Columbian companies are finalists in four categories for the 2020 B.C. Export Awards presented by Business in Vancouver.

The annual event, which this year will be presented virtually at a Feb. 16 ceremony, will feature awards to one of the three finalists in the categories of Advancing Technology, Emerging Exporter, Manufactured Products and Professional Services. One of the winners in those categories will also be declared Exporter of the Year.

The award program will also feature interviews on export issues with B.C. Trade Minister George Chow and Economic Recovery Minister Ravi Kahlon.

“We have another strong group of finalists this year indicative of the British Columbian economy’s global reach,” said Kirk LaPointe, BIV publisher and editor-in-chief and one of the judges for this year’s competition. “Even though we’re not able to stage an in-person event, the virtual ceremony will be a great opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments.”

The nominated finalists in the Advancing Technology category include EnWave Corp., Global Relay and Quadrogen Power Systems Inc. Finalists in the Emerging Exporter category are Big Mountain Foods, MetaOptima Technology Inc. and Mimik Technology Inc. Finalists in the Manufactured Products category are Artron Labs, BE Power Equipment and Kalesnikoff Mass Timber and Lumber. Finalists in the Professional Services category are Codan Communications, MTU Maintenance Canada Ltd. and Top Flight Elite Training and Charter Services Inc.
