Cloud-based news platform SendtoNews.com announced September 13 that it has closed $3 million in financing from a B.C. investment group headed by RevenueWire Inc. cofounders Don Wharton and Elton, Adrian and Myron Pereira.
That same group invested $1 million in SendtoNews last year.
SendtoNews will use the money to roll out a new North American digital sports video distribution network dubbed SendtoNews News Partnership Network.
This network centralizes multimedia sports content for distribution across North America and will act as a library for newsrooms that want the content.
"We now have the financing to complete the launch of the continent's first expansive sports video distribution network for the digital age," said SendtoNews CEO Greg Bobolo. "Initial interest from newsrooms is very high, and we are in active discussions with more than 30 strategic partners."
