Vancouverites love their butter chicken, according to a new trend that’s seeing an increasing number of Canadians ordering restaurant food online for delivery.

Survey results released June 4 from Orderit.ca find that while butter chicken tops the list of online food deliveries in both Vancouver and Toronto, West Coast residents are also particularly fond of banh mi, power protein salads and carnitas.

After Orderit launched in Vancouver in 2011, the company has grown at a rate of 40-45% annually, according to a company spokeswoman.

However, that growth rate has shot up 80% this past year.

Orderit said much of the increase in demand is due to mobile use as more Canadians turn to their phones to make online orders.

The Vancouver market has been flooded with choices the past few years as the growing menu of online food delivery services available in the city include foodler.com, just-eat.ca, lazymeal.com, wowtasty.com, food.ee, vancouverfoodster.com, 5delivery.com and munchiesdelivery.ca.
