Warner Bros.-produced TV series Arrow, filmed in and around Metro Vancouver, has brought in more than $360.8 million to the provincial economy, according to an MNP LLP report released February 28.

The production of the series has supported 7,087 full-time equivalent jobs over five seasons, and has spent $44.3 million on crew and labour and $27.9 million on goods and services in the province.

Arrow is one of four DC superhero productions filmed in B.C., along with Supergirl, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

“British Columbia has become the home for our superhero lineup, and we are thrilled with how the local communities have embraced these productions,” said Warner Bros. Entertainment executive producer Andrew Kreisberg.

“We have unbelievable talent and crews who work tirelessly to make this show the success that it is, not to mention a beautiful province to film in.”

Approximately 825 businesses from 31 communities around the province have benefited from Arrow’s production, the report said. Fifteen of these communities were in Metro Vancouver. Some of the businesses include production and special effects companies, hotels, restaurants, drycleaners and catering businesses.

Arrow follows billionaire vigilante Oliver Queen as he fights crime with a bow and arrow in fictional Star City.
