B.C. home to one of the world’s most expensive luxury resorts: survey

According to a recent survey from Luxury-Hotels.com, the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is among the most expensive luxury hotels in the world.

The survey rates resorts on the lowest available price point a vacationing couple would pay in each respective hotel during the peak season months of July and August 2017. Located on Vancouver Island’s west coast and near to Tofino, Clayoquot resort charges couples a minimum of $3347 per night.

The luxury tent camp came in eighth out of 10 and was the only resort in North America to be included on the list.

The Clayoquot resort is a privately owned “eco-safari style’ camp that has 25 guest tents situated in Crown land and Strathcona Provincial Park. Clayoquot is a 45-minute floatplane ride from Vancouver and 40-minute boat ride from Tofino.

First on the list was North Island Lodge in Seychelles at $6995 per night, followed by resorts in Fiji, Botswana and French Polynesia.
