The Canadian branches of the world’s largest accounting firms have been outperforming their global counterparts’ growth for the past six years.

Three of the province’s five largest accounting firms on Business in Vancouver’s Biggest Accounting Firms in B.C. list (page 16) are a part of the Big Four international accounting firms: No. 1 KPMG LLP, No. 3 Deloitte LLP and No. 5 PwC. Each had larger revenue growth last year than its global counterpart. Deloitte was the only Canadian branch in the top five to have a smaller six-year revenue growth than the firm globally.

KPMG LLP’s Canadian offices outperformed their global counterpart’s revenue growth by 66.5%. Revenue for KPMG LLP’s Canadian offices grew 24.36% to $1.45 billion in 2017 from $1.16 billion in 2012. During the same period, KPMG globally grew only 14.6% to US$26.4 billion in 2017 from US$23 billion in 2012.

MNP LLP  is part of a global network of independent accountants called Praxity.

Of the top five firms, MNP outshone its global counterpart the most with its 87% revenue growth last year. MNP increased its revenue 76.7% to $760 million in 2017 from $430 million in 2012. Praxity increased its revenue by 40% to US$5.2 billion in 2017 from US$3.7 billion in 2012.
