A message to our readers and advertisers:

Business in Vancouver, part of the Glacier Media family of publications, has proudly served the British Columbia business community for more than 30 years. Nothing in recent memory has disrupted economic activity in our market like the emergence of COVID-19.

Through this challenge our intention is to enhance our service to you during this period of need. We intend to fortify our journalism to ensure we are the definitive source of business information. By virtue of our online traffic, we know our audience is growing because our province is looking for trustworthy journalism to help it understand developments and make decisions.

We are in no different position than are other businesses: Some of our activities are bound to alter in the time ahead. We want to be nimble and creative in identifying new needs and opportunities amid these challenges, but we know some of what we do will not be appropriate for the times. After our virtual event this Wednesday (on COVID-19 and the economy), we will reschedule some of our events to later this year. We will announce these moves as they arise.

Today we are launching a daily newsletter focusing on COVID-19 and our economy. It will move each weekday afternoon and complement our late-morning newsletter with a wide range of news. We welcome your comments and suggestions on how to make it most relevant to your needs.

Following Wednesday's virtual event on COVID-19 and the impact on the economy, we will launch a daily video podcast on how business is dealing with the emergence and spread of coronavirus in our region.

We will continue to publish our weekly newspaper and our portfolio of magazines, and we hope you will depend on them as vital elements in your understanding of our economic and social conditions. We will have more announcements in the days ahead on other measures to further earn your support.

We appreciate your patience as we build new ways to serve you.

Sincerely,

Kirk LaPointe,

Publisher and Editor-in-Chief,
