B.C. has notched six straight days without a single death from COVID-19, B.C.'s provincial health officer Bonnie Henry said June 11, as she revealed new data about the COVID-19 pandemic.
There were 14 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the past 24 hours, for a total of 2,694.
The breakdown of all COVID-19 infections by health region is:
• 917 in Vancouver Coastal Health;
• 1,386 in Fraser Health;
• 130 in Island Health;
• 195 in Interior Health; and
• 66 in Northern Health.
There are 183 people currently fighting COVID-19 infections, with 13 of them in hospital, including five in intensive care units. More than 87%, or 2,344 people, have recovered from their infections.
No new deaths have been recorded in the past six days hours, so the province's death toll from the disease stays at 167.
No new healthcare facilities, or seniors' homes, have been identified as having outbreaks of the virus that has caused a global pandemic.
That means that there are five faciliites that have outbreaks, including Vancouver's Holy Family Hospital, which was first identified yesterday.
The four other seniors' living facilities that have active outbreaks of the virus include:
• Vancouver's South Granville Park Lodge;
• Port Coquitlam's Nicola Lodge;
• Langley's Langley Lodge; and
• Abbotsford's Valhaven Home.
