After going almost entirely virtual to survive the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Vancouver’s Eastside Culture Crawl is back this year with both in person and virtual events to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The crawl will feature a new artist livestream schedule, a dedicated appointment-based preview weekend, and the event’s traditional open studio series. With the new arrangement, patrons can fully customize their crawl experience and visit the studios of over 400 artists taking part.

Similar to last year, the virtual aspect of the crawl presents a host of benefits for art-goers. These perks include “unparalleled access to visual artists practicing a variety of different art forms, including painting, sculpture, pottery, photography, jewellery, glass art, furniture, and more.”

Esther Rausenberg, artistic and executive director of the Eastside Arts Society says she is incredibly proud of the work and representation the Eastside Culture Crawl has been able to showcase in its 25 years.

“We have not only boosted the careers and livelihoods of countless artists who enrich our city through creative vitality, but we have provided an essential outlet for the public to experience artistic expression and creative connection," Rausenberg states in a media release.

The crawl will take place in person and online over two consecutive weekends, Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 18-21.
