There are dozens of reasons why you and your sweetheart might prefer to stay in for a night of togetherness and romance from the racy to the practical, but if you'd prefer to spend your Valentine's Day in the kitchen as little as possible, there are dozens of restaurants and catering outfits in Vancouver at the ready with delicious take-out options.

But if cooking is your love language, fret not: You and your Valentine can sign up for a Zoom cooking course from one of the city's top caterers, if that's more your jam.

From decadent catered spreads to casual (and playful) bites like fried chicken "bouquets" and heart-shaped pizzas to meal kits aimed at making your brunch or dinner a breeze, here are some of the best Valentine's Day take-out options available right now in Vancouver.

Special V-Day eats

Juke is sharing the love this Valentine’s Day with the return of its fan-favourite ‘Let’s Cluck’ Fried Chicken Bouquets available exclusively for pickup on Monday, Feb. 14. Each bouquet swaps out the been-there, done-that Valentine’s Day floral arrangement in favour of eight crispy, juicy pieces of Juke’s fried chicken in decorative wrap for $31 plus tax.

Not to be outdone is Juke's plant-based sibling, Beetbox, which is bringing back last year's sold-out vegan- and vegetarian-friendly Fried Chick-Un Finger Bouquets, available for pickup from Saturday, Feb. 12 until Monday, Feb. 14. Each Beetbox CLB (Certified Lover Bouquet) includes a dozen of Beetbox’s popular Fried Chick-Un Fingers (made from breaded and fried seitan) accompanied with housemade Maple Mustard Dip packaged in decorative Valentine’s Day wrap for $25 plus tax per bouquet.

Also in on the fried chicken floral action is Win Win Chick-N. From Feb. 5 to 14, the chicken spot's Valentine's Day Bouquet Set will be available for both online pre-order and phone reservations. The Set comes with 12 pieces of fried chicken drumsticks and a personal ube cake. The Bouquet Set will be available for pick up in both Richmond and Vancouver.
