The Vancouver based software company Vandrico Solutions has teamed up with professional service giant Deloitte to help manage and develop what they believe is the world’s largest wearable technology databases.

“Industries all over the world are now adopting wearables as a way to keep employees safe on the job,” said Gonzalo Tudela, CEO of Vandrico Solutions Inc. in a press release. “Keeping up-to-date with the hardware market is key to our client’s success.”

Vandrico’s database has comparable information on over 400 wearable technologies from over 300 companies. In 2015, Vandrico’s database was accessed over a million times and from 207 countries. Deloitte and Vandrico expect to increase the number of devices on their database to 700 by the end of the year.

In the short term Vandrico and Deloitte aim to tackle productivity problems within the mining industry through the use of wearable technology. Afterwards they plan to use wearable technology to innovate other industrial sectors including heavy-duty machinery services, the power services industry and industrial development.

“Anything where you’re going to have highly skilled, remote workers is where you’re going to see wearable technology,” said Tudela in an interview.

Both Vandrico and Deloitte believe that businesses and industries that adopt wearable technology will be the first to capitalize on greater employee safety and efficiency.
