Vancouver’s Saje Natural Wellness plans to add U.S.-based stores to its chain of 45 stores across Canada, the company announced October 27.
The first U.S. store is slated to open in Malibu, California, at the end of November with another store in the Los Angeles area by the end of 2016.
It then plans to open 25 more stores across the U.S. by the end of 2017.
The company has been expanding fast, given that in January 2015, it only had 22 locations across Canada.
E-commerce orders to the U.S. are already available.
“With over 15% of our online business organically coming from the U.S., we are thrilled to extend our reach to retail, offering new ways to live, share and be inspired by wholistic wellness,” said co-founder and CEO Kate Ross LeBlanc.
New Canadian stores are planned for Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as the company’s first location in New Brunswick.
Though not on Business in Vancouver’s 2016 list of fastest growing companies in B.C., ranked by revenue between 2011 and 2015, Saje has ranked as one of Canada’s fastest growing companies by Profit Magazine for the past three years.
LeBlanc and husband Jean-Pierre LeBlanc founded the company in 1992.
