Parq Vancouver plans to hold four job fairs this summer to hire more than 1,000 staff for its casino and hospitality complex slated to open later this year next to BC Place.

Recruits are to fill a wide range of positions – from entry-level workers to executives.

Some of the positions for which the company seeks workers include casino cage cashiers, dealers, security officers, pastry chefs, cooks, servers, bartenders, restaurant managers, guest services representatives, concierges, room attendants and many more.

In addition to the casino, the complex is set to include a 329-room JW Marriott hotel and the 188-room Douglas Hotel, which is a separate Marriott-run hotel that is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection brand of hotels. Park Vancouver will also have eight restaurants and lounges.

Job fairs will be held at BC Place, at Gate H on the following dates and times:

•Wednesday, June 21, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.;

•Saturday, July 15, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.;

•Monday, July 17, between 12 and 5 p.m.; and

•Wednesday, August 2, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

There is a large pool of people who are seeking hospitality jobs, as shown by demand to work at the Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver. That hotel saw 10,000 people apply for jobs, according to the hotel's general manager Philipp Posch.
