GBLT, the leading lithium-ion mobile storage and LED lighting company, sells its products under one of the world’s most recognized consumer electronic brands: Polaroid. GBLT is currently the first to market Polaroid-branded mobile storage products – combining lithium storage for battery power with a known brand. Employing contract manufacturers to produce the merchandise, GBLT sells its Polaroid-branded products in North America through retailers such as Target, Home Depot and Amazon.

With over 80 years in the market, Polaroid is one of the world’s most recognized brands with consumer awareness reaching nearly 100%. As a new entrant in the North American market, GBLT (German Battery & Lighting Technologies PLC) uses Polaroid’s brand recognition to secure long-term contracts with the retail and B2B sectors. GBLT’s solid and reliable reputation in Europe, the Middle East and Africa led Polaroid to grant GBLT licences in a number of product lines on a long-term basis. GBLT designs and certifies the most economical solution for mobile power using new storage technology.

GBLT’s product lines include LED lighting (light bulbs, under-cabinet lights and lighting ballasts), energy storage (lithiumion mobile and home energy storage) and LED displays (commercial-grade screens and kiosks). The power packs can be recharged using AC, DC or the (optional) solar panels. A complete suite of products can be seen at: http://www.polaroidenergystorage.com/en/

GBLT has established sales and distribution channels in the leading regions of Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe. According to data from research firm Markets and Markets, the global portable battery market is expected to reach up to US$11 billion by 2020, growing an estimated 17% from 2014 to 2020.

GBLT competes with established rivals in the LED lighting sector, namely Osram Licht AG, Philips Lighting NV and General Electric (GE). GBLT has the lowest price among these three competitors due to low production costs. Owing to the strength of the Polaroid brand name, GBLT is able to market the products alongside Osram, Philips and GE. In the Canadian marketplace GBLT provides lighting for cannabis farming using LED grow lights and bitcoin farming lights. On the public safety side, GBLT has implemented four different methods to ensure certification of its products. A complete product line is available at: http://www.polaroidlicht.de/?lang=en.

According to a study done by McKinsey & Co., the lighting market will grow from US$53 billon in 2012 to US$110 billion in 2020 worldwide. As one of the first licensees of Polaroid worldwide, GBLT stands to be in the driver’s seat to benefit from the global Polaroid-branded lighting products.

Amplifying the effects of brand recognition, the owners of the Polaroid brand are actively promoting their brand using a diversified matrix of strong social media presence, product placement and sponsorship from well-known celebrities.

GBLT’s management was attracted to Canada and its established venture market to go public. Visiting a number of Bay Street dealers, GBLT’s management selected Mackie Research Capital Corp. to be its representative to take the company public through a reverse takeover of a capital pool company, CUP Capital Corp., on the TSX Venture Exchange. Mackie is a full-service investment dealer that traces its roots back to 1921, employing over 300 professionals with principal offices in Toronto, Montreal, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Mackie’s managing director of venture investment banking, Jovan Stupar, is tasked with leading the prospectus financing for CUP Capital/GBLT. Stupar can be reached at [email protected] for any further information regarding GBLT, CUP Capital or the prospectus offering.
