A Vancouver tech company that helps track the health of users on behalf of insurance companies is getting a sizeable cash injection.

PAI Health announced Thursday (September 27) it’s raised $9 million in a new round of funding.

The company formerly known as MIO Global originally produced fitness wearables before changing its name in December 2017 as it narrowed its focus to software.

PAI’s software is now used by other wearable brands like the Apple Watch to measure users’ activity and guide them on how active they need to be to stay healthy.

Participants in the funding round were not disclosed.

PAI Health did not respond to an interview request from Business in Vancouver before press time.
