Cannabis

Nicole Rusaw has been appointed as chief financial officer of Nabis Holdings Inc.

Kevin Ma has resigned from the company’s board of directors.

Finance

Jonathan Fowlie has been appointed vice-president, government relations and public affairs, at Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (Vancity). Previously, Fowlie served as Vancity’s director of communications.

Randall Scharlach has joined Roadman Investment Corp.’s strategic advisory board. Scharlach will also join Roadman’s health and wellness committee.

Trudy Hopman, Maria Mennie and Lisa Newby have joined Harper Grey LLP as associate counsels. Ryan Chan has joined the firm as an associate in its family law practice. All previously served at Hopman Mennie.

Jessica Bowering has joined Butler Price LLP as a lawyer and investigator. Previously, she served as the deputy minister with the Government of Alberta in the executive council’s policy co-ordination office.

Dana Turner-Ryan has joined Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP as knowledge management and practice innovation lawyer.

Mark Cooper has been elected chair of the board of directors at Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN).

Rob Griesdale, Avtar Johl and Garett Wall have been elected first vice-chair, secretary and treasurer, and past chair, respectively.

Blake Ponuick, Dan Glavind, Gary Mertens, Alisa Aragon, Andrew Delmonico, Dave Deamer, Henri Belisle, Jason Wolfe, Lynn Harrison, Matt Robinson, Randy Chin, Larry Clay and Jeff Bontkes have also been appointed to HAVAN’s board of directors.

Public

India Rael Young has joined the Royal BC Museum as curator of art and images. Previously, she was the Andrew W. Mellon research specialist in Native American art at the Princeton University art museum.

Real estate

Mitch Drew has joined Re/Max Progroup and Re/Max City Realty as a realtor and a recruiter, respectively. Formerly, Drew served as a team leader for Keller Williams VanCentral.

Resources

Daithi MacGearilt has been appointed president, CEO and a director of Goldstrike Resources Ltd. He replaces Terrence E. King, who has resigned as president, CEO and a director of the company.

King has also resigned from the board of Luckystrike Resources Ltd. Daniel Stuart has been appointed as an independent director of the company’s board.

Hats Off

Engineers and Geoscientists BC donated $30,000 in support of Science World’s provincial outreach program and 2019 Girls and STEAM event. 

Richards Buell Sutton LLP donated $250,000 to the business law clinic at the University of British Columbia’s Peter A. Allard School of Law. The funds will help support the clinic’s next five years of operations. •
