Development/Construction

Stephanie Fraser and Andrea Pozsgay have joined Bird Construction as the human resources manager and talent acquisition specialist, respectively.

Ferit Erderin has joined the company as an estimator.

Alessandro Vianello has been appointed group executive chef at Kitchen Table Restaurants. 

Jefferson Alvarez has joined Papi’s Seafood and Oyster Bar as head chef.

Stefan McConnell has joined Miller Thomson’s Vancouver office as a partner in the business law group. Ellen Kief has joined the office as associate counsel.

Jessica Campbell has joined Fasken as counsel in its litigation and dispute resolution group. She practises insurance law, including matters of construction and product liability.

Matthew Singerman and Dani Marshall have joined Clark Wilson LLP as a partner and an associate, respectively, in the firm’s commercial real estate group. Singerman previously served as vice-president and general counsel at Aquilini Group.

Previously, Marshall served as a lawyer at Doak Shirreff Lawyers LLP.

Karin Kirkpatrick has been appointed to the board of directors of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade (GVBOT). She is the chief executive officer of Family Services of Greater Vancouver.

Kari Yuers, Brent Cameron and Bridgitte Anderson have been appointed chair, vice-chair and president and CEO, respectively, of the 2019-20 GVBOT board of directors.

Public

Stephen Déry has been appointed as the first NSERC and Rio Tinto senior industrial research chair in climate change and water security at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).

John Newell has been appointed president, CEO and director of Luckystrike Resources Ltd. Bill Chornobay has stepped down as president, CEO and director of the company. 

Shane D. Beattie has been appointed chief technology officer at Graphite One Inc. He previously served as the chief technology officer of Elcora Advanced Materials and the chief executive officer of BTInnovations.

Technology

Craig Ryomoto has joined Thinkfic as chief revenue officer. Ryomoto formerly served as chief revenue officer at Bench Accounting.

 

Kent Chan has been appointed a strategic growth manager at mCloud Technologies Corp. in support of the company’s smart process business segment. He previously served as the head of project services at Pacific NorthWest LNG and general manager of operations at Yokogawa Canada.

The Greg Moore Foundation donated $25,000 to Zajac Ranch for Children in support of a safe and fun camp experience for children and young adults facing chronic, life-threatening or debilitating conditions.

Barbara Grantham received the Lifetime Achievement in Fundraising Award at the 2019 Giving Hearts Awards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

John and Dana Montalbano received the Outstanding Philanthropist Award.

Sandy So received the Outstanding Legacy Philanthropist Award.

David Podmore received the Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award.
