Sumeet Sangha and Eva Tone have been appointed partners at MNP LLP. Sangha and Tone were principal and partner, respectively, at Sangha Tone Chartered Professional Accountants. The Langley-based accounting firm has merged with MNP.

Legal

Zakhir Nathoo has joined Clark Wilson LLP as an associate in the technology transactions group in the Vancouver office. He was previously an associate at MEP Business Counsel.

Ryan Bencic has joined Harper Grey LLP’s business law group as an associate. Bencic was previously general counsel at PainWorth and Kezia Capital Corp.

Mark Rubinstein has been appointed chief executive officer of Hope Air effective March 2, 2020. He previously served as co-managing director of Searchlight Partners and CEO of Alpine Canada. Doug Keller-Hobson will retire as the company’s CEO.

Ron Rapp has been appointed chief executive officer by the board of directors at the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN). Rapp previously served as HAVAN’s interim CEO and as vice-president of construction at Morningstar Homes Ltd.

Public

Ronna-Rae Leonard has been appointed parliamentary secretary for seniors by Premier John Horgan. Leonard is MLA for Courtenay-Comox. She will work with Adrian Dix, minister of health, to improve and strengthen services for seniors. Leonard assumes responsibility for seniors from Anne Kang, who recently became minister of citizens’ services. Kang retains responsibility for multiculturalism.

Real Estate

Dan Morrison has been appointed regional director and managing broker for the Vancouver office of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. He is a director and the incoming president-elect of the British Columbia Real Estate Association. Previously, he served as associate broker at Sotheby’s International Realty.

Technology

Nick Lisi has been appointed chief sales officer at Visier. He previously served as executive vice-president and chief sales officer at SAS Institute.

Name Change

Sangha Tone Chartered Professional Accountants has merged with MNP. The deal adds a new MNP office in Langley and a satellite office in North Vancouver.

Pacific Plaza and AA Property Management donated $22,800 to Richmond Hospital Foundation. The funds will support the need for up-to-date infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment for the medical team at Richmond Hospital.

VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation raised $3 million in support of its future surgery campaign that will reduce wait times in Vancouver hospitals. The funds were raised through the 2020 Lion Way Properties Time to Shine gala.

Westcoast Wills & Estates Law Corp. donated $10,586 to Nature Trust of British Columbia.

Mount Saint Joseph Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital raised $1,081,370 in support of women’s health-care equipment and research at two hospitals. The funds were raised through the 13th annual Scotiabank Feast of Fortune gala.

The Mischa Weisz Foundation donated $12,500 to YWCA Metro Vancouver. The funds will support YWCA’s Circle of Sisters Indigenous Mentorship Program, which provides opportunities for self-identified Indigenous girls aged 12 to 18 (mentees) to connect with Indigenous community and culture with the help of young self-identified Indigenous women (mentors) and skilled facilitators.  •
