The provincial government reported 35 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, along with three new deaths.
The announcement brings the province's total number of cases up to 1,445. There have been no new cases identified at long-term care facilities in the last day, according to the province.
To date, 905 individuals who have tested positive for the coronavirus have recovered and are no longer required to isolate themselves.
"We are paying special attention to international travellers returning to British Columbia," said Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix in a joint statement issued Saturday.
They added that they are encouraged people are staying home and away from rural and remote communities over the holiday weekend.
