Surrey council has approved more than $692 million worth of development projects covering high-rise residential towers, rental apartments, townhouses and industrial warehouses.
“It’s clear that there is no shortage of confidence in developing and building in Surrey,” Mayor Doug McCallum said.
Among projects approved are several are along the new Surrey-Langley SkyTrain extension corridor. McCallum said those align with council’s development strategy calling for new development to coincide with the construction of transit, schools and other amenities.
Among approved projects are a six-storey apartment building and 162 townhouses, two high-rise residential towers and a mid-rise rental building, a six-storey apartment building and 55 townhouses, a three-storey rental apartment building, a four-storey rental apartment building containing a combined 104 units and a four-storey rental apartment building containing 156 units.
