A new restaurant specializing in sausges and beer has opened up in Central Lonsdale in North Vancouver.

Chop & Chew is the venture of Shayan Keshvadi, a veteran of Earls Restaurant who grew up on the North Shore. Keshvadi says he "finds comfort in being in the kitchen and preparing delicious meals," thanks to growing up in a family "where quality food was a staple."

Keshvadi has taken over the space at 1842 Lonsdale Avenue that had previous been the Lonsdale Eatery.

The plan is to keep things simple: Locally-sourced ingredients for a menu of sausages and beer, with sides like sauerkraut and slaw.

"The inspiration behind our food comes from combining the taste of an authentic sausage (meat and vegan) with modern flavours and irresistible sides," explains the restaurant.

Chop & Chew is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays from 1-11 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 2 p.m. to midnight.
