The BC NDP will issue ICBC rebate cheques to drivers for any profits generated during the COVID-19 pandemic, David Eby, NDP candidate for Vancouver-Point Grey said Sunday.
During a campaign stop outside of the ICBC building in a contested North Vancouver riding, Eby criticized the BC Liberals’ record on the insurer when that party was in power, and promised the return of any recent surplus to drivers.
Eby managed the ICBC file in the NDP-Green minority government.
In response, BC Green Party leader Sonia Furstenau called Eby’s announcement a shallow election ploy by the NDP.
