Residents of the Lower Mainland are invited to play under the twinkle of a million sparkling lights at the annual Glow Gardens festival starting this fall.

Each year, guests wander through an illuminated wonderland complete with festive decorations, refreshments, and, of course, dazzling light installations galore.

This year, Glow invites you to take a walk on the wild side at the Greater Vancouver Zoo in Aldergrove.

Nighttime hours have been added so visitors can stroll through a charming landscape of Christmas festivities, which include "larger-than-life lighted displays, a 100-foot dancing light tunnel, music, and seasonal food and treats."

Guests will also earn a surprise when they help Santa find his lost presents, scattered throughout the park.

Glow adds that the following COVID-19 health and safety protocol will be in place during the event:

  • Protective masks are mandatory for staff and recommended for guests.
  • Hand sanitizer stations are conveniently located throughout the venue.
  • All groups must stay together, and remain 6 feet from other guests.
  • No cash sales.
  • Loads of extra space has been added between the exhibits for social distancing.
