No new COVID-19 deaths or outbreaks in B.C.

There have been no new deaths from COVID-19 in B.C. over the last two days, and no new outbreaks at health or long-term care facilities.

There were 59 new COVID-19 cases since Tuesday, bringing the number of total active cases in B.C. to 624, with 86 people in hospital and 20 in intensive care.

That is a slight uptick in daily new cases, as they had fallen to just 20 between Sunday and Monday, and 46 between Monday and Tuesday.

There are still active outbreaks in four acute care or long-term care facilities, but no new ones to report. Facilities with ongoing outbreaks are:  

  • Laurel Place at Surrey Memorial Hospital 
  • Rotary Manor, Dawson Creek
  • Eagle Ridge Hospital (Fraser Health)
  • Royal Inland Hospital (Interior Health)

As of Wednesday, 78.2% (3,631,452) of British Columbians 12 and older were vaccinated, with 38.2% (1,772,595) fully vaccinated with two doses.

To date, a total of  5,404,047 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna OR AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.
