One of the summer’s most spectacular sights is just about in bloom, and ready to welcome you (and all those Instagram poses you’ve perfected).

The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival has revealed its 15-acre fields of sky-high blooms will be open on July 26.

You’ll find 42 different varieties of sunny sunflowers, planted row upon row and in charming display gardens. There are nearly three kilometres of extra-wide pathways and the route is one-way in order for you to enjoy the stunning flora while maintaining a safe physical distance.

“The Chilliwack Sunflower Festival is an ode to of one of the best seasons of the year—summer!” explains organizers - who also happen to be behind the equally breathtaking Chilliwack Tulip Festival.

Among the kinds of sunflowers cropping up this season will be Sunrich Orange Sunflowers and Giant Sunflowers.

The fest will also feature a field packed with over 50 varieties of show-stopping dahlias in all their colourful glory, as well as eight kinds of glorious gladiolas, and wildflowers.

“The fields are planted in stages so that all of the flowers can be enjoyed throughout the season, just in different locations around the fields,” explain organizers. “There will always be between five and eight acres of flowers in full bloom throughout the season.”

This year, the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival will resume offering its “u-pick” sunflowers, so you can bring the blooms home. Grab a bite from food trucks  - there will be one set up there weekdays and two on weekends. You’re also welcome to hang out and play yard games or do a little shopping at the onsite gift store.
