With more than 60 breweries and cideries signed up, more than 150 beers and ciders promised, and two days of music, the Vancouver Craft Beer and Music Festival is coming back in good form this July.

Organizers of Vancouver Craft Beer Week (VCBW) promise a bigger and better festival more open to people that don't consider themselves craft beer experts. The event will take over the PNE Fairgrounds on July 9 and 10.

"Looking to the future, VCBW is no longer only for the beer aficionado," says Dax Droski in a press release. "While lovers of craft brews have played an instrumental role in making this event the summer staple it is today, now is the time for VCBW to welcome everyone, including the entire spectrum of beer drinkers.”

Along with the epic amount of beers to try, there will be food trucks, art and, in a first for the beer-centric event, live music. There will be two nights of music, with Toronto's Bedouin Soundclash headlining the Saturday night show with locals Titus Bank opening. Nova Scotia-based Skratch Bastid opens on Sunday, followed by Montreal's Half Moon Run on Sunday.

“Between the quality (and quantity) of craft beer available, the musical lineup, delicious food options, affordable ticket price and the fact that society as a whole is eager to return to events, we think VCBW is set to be the event of the summer,” says organizer Adam Bloch.

Among the changes this year, the festival will go cashless. Instead, people will get wristbands with RFID tags embedded in them. The wristbands can be loaded with cash before the event and once it's over any remaining funds still loaded will be refunded to their account.

The festival will run from 2 to 7 p.m. each day. Tickets start at $30 for general admission per day and $70 for VIP. A two-day pass starts at $49 for the pre-sale. Pre-sale tickets go on sale May 3.
