But is it succeeding? Paul Preston (1:06) of the Conference Board of Canada has been examining various provinces and countries, and the think tank’s latest report card on innovation gives B.C. a D grade. He explains why.

Later, economist Ken Peacock (15:09) from the Business Council of B.C. discusses the fast pace at which the province’s manufacturing sector is growing — second only to Prince Edward Island. He recently authored a report examining the reasons why it’s punching above its weight as well as the challenges ahead.
