We are recapping some of our favourite episodes while we are on summer break. In the third instalment of our special four-part Women in Business podcast series, hosted by Hayley Woodin, sponsored by UBC Sauder School of Business…

Dr. Carole Taylor, British Columbia’s former finance minister and the current deputy chairman of the Trilateral Commission’s North American region, opens up about her career, leadership in politics and female leadership.

“I have a lot of concerns, and it surprises me,” she says. “I don’t see politicians listening to each other.”

Dr. Taylor offers advices for young men and women who are looking at the world and weighing a career in politics. She discusses how to persevere in the face of criticism.

She weighs in on Jody Wilson-Raybould’s handling of her role in the wake of the federal government’s SNC Lavalin affair, and discusses what it takes to be a leader in 2019.

Business in Vancouver’s Women in Business podcast series features in-depth conversations with women who have risen through the ranks of respective fields.

Past guests include BC Treaty Chief Commissioner Celeste Haldane, Vancouver Economic Commission CEO Catherine Warren and the Hon. Janet Austin, lieutenant governor of B.C.

Four episodes. Four women. Four unique stories of leadership.
