The fallout from South Korea’s “nut rage” drama is gathering into an all-out campaign against what are being portrayed as the self-obsessed offspring of the heads of the “chaebol” corporate conglomerates. Cho Hyun-ah, the daughter of the chairman of Korean Air, has been sentenced to a year in prison after she ordered a plane awaiting takeoff back to the gate when she was given macadamia nuts in a bag instead of in a dish. The affair has led to a spate of media investigations into the wealth of the chaebol offspring and the inheritance of control of the conglomerates by children who have no proven management skills.
