Steepest decline since December 2008?22.5%?16.9%?8.5%?3.6%October exports (industrial, consumer)October exports (energy products)October exports (agriculture, fish)October exports (forestry)The value of exports from B.C. fell 12.9% (seasonally adjusted) in October, marking the largest monthly decline since December 2008. Exports of all major commodities were weaker during the month, most notably the double-digit drop in the value of shipments of industrial and consumer goods (-22.5%) and energy products (-16.9%). Agriculture and fish (-8.5%), forestry (-3.6%) and machinery and equipment and automobile (-3.0%) products were also down moderately. The value of shipments bound for the U.S. remained virtually unchanged compared to the previous month (-0.2%); however, exports to the rest of the world plummeted 21.8%.
