Founder and CEO, Global Senior Care
Age 39
What career highlight are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the meaningful impact our services have on our clients’ lives. I am also proud that Global Senior Care created jobs for 71 deserving people in 2023, and that we recently celebrated being in business for 10 years!
What has been your toughest business or professional decision to date?
The decision to leave the corporate world to start my company, stepping into the unknown and not knowing whether my new venture would succeed. There were many sleepless nights where I was debating if this was the right decision when I was going through a tough transition in my life living in a new city. There were many challenges along the way, and it took a lot of sacrifice but looking back, putting the fears aside and going for it was the best decision I have ever made.
How do you lead?
My goal as a leader is to build a culture of support and empathy. In terms of our operations team, I look to hire the best people for the job, train them to the best of my abilities and not micromanage them. I encourage them to lead in their roles offering guidance rather than directing every step. Overall, I try to remain a solution-focused approach and provide an environment for employees to thrive in while staying aligned with the company’s goals and core values.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned in business?
Having a clear vision of what you want your life and career to look like is essential. Everything changes and ends and things do not always go according to plan. Adaptability is key.
Best piece of advice ever received?
“To achieve real excellence, you need to make a serious commitment”—David Reeve.
What is your definition of success?
To me, success is about creating sustainable growth while making a meaningful impact. Living your truth and being authentically aligned with who you are and your sense of purpose. I focus on pursuing the passions and goals that ground me and consistently move me toward growth in ways that feel authentic. Adding value for others and doing more of the things that genuinely fulfill me rather than chasing what society and peers expect.
What are you most passionate about outside of work?
My family and friends. I am truly blessed with the most amazing family and group of friends. Some of my favourite moments are spent dancing around the house at my parents’ home with my three-and-a-half-year-old niece Elika who is the biggest source of joy in my life.
What’s left to accomplish?
It’s a long list—lots of exciting goals and plans in the works.
