Business in Vancouver has launched a new podcast focused exclusively on equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in business.
'EDI on BIV' will feature conversations with experts on the level of equity, diversity and inclusion in B.C.'s economy, the progress that has yet to be made on this important issue and how employers can implement best practices in EDI.
New episodes will be published on Tuesdays in video and audio-only formats as part of BIV's daily podcast. BIV executive editor Hayley Woodin will co-host the show alongside a guest co-host each week.
Listeners can subscribe to BIV Today here to receive updates on new EDI on BIV episodes.
Where's the 'R' in EDI?
Ruth Mojeed, founder and chief equity officer of The Inclusion Project, joins the show as the series' first guest.
In this episode, she speaks with Woodin and Chantelle Krish, director of communications, programs and outreach with the office of the Lieutenant Governor of B.C., about the need to move from safe spaces to brave spaces in business.
Mojeed also addresses the importance of specifically highlighting racial equity in conversations on equity, diversity and inclusion, and the implications of creating an EDI strategy that is overly broad.
