A business was fined more than $4,000 by WorkSafe BC for an unsafe worksite in Richmond.
Sea to Sky Precision Construction Ltd. was fined $4,831.08 on Mar. 28 for a safety violation while working on a two-storey home.
The site was inspected by WorkSafe BC staff who found a worker standing on the top plate of a second-storey wall, according to the agency’s website.
“No form of fall protection was in place, exposing the worker to a fall risk of about 5.5 metres,” said WorkSafeBC.
“The firm failed to ensure fall protection was used, a repeated and high-risk violation.”
