Who or what is responsible for your work ethic?

Growing up, my parents were both incredibly hard working business leaders and fortunately instilled in me that same work ethic.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Perhaps cliché, but tech gadgets – always the latest and greatest!

What is the best book you would recommend?

Poor Charlie’s Almanack: The Wit and Wisdom of Charles T. Munger. An indispensable tome of life and business experience.

Now that you’re entering your 40s, what goals have you set for yourself?

To continue growing into the best version of myself: father, husband, friend and colleague.

Choose one of these five childhood career dreams: Rock star, star athlete, prime minister, astronaut, detective.

Rock star: as a young child I used to dance on the table singing to Michael Jackson wearing one sparkling glove.

Name your happiest place.

The game reserves of South Africa: it feels like being in a fairy tale surrounded by so many phenomenal animals.

What was your toughest business or professional decision?

To leave an amazing team of friends and colleagues at Aquinox Pharmaceutials to pursue a passion for digital health.

Advice you would give your 20-year-old self?

Be more courageous, take more risks, fail more often and be even more adventurous.

What is your best habit?

Listening to podcasts to quench my thirst for continuous learning and knowledge.

Tell us one improbable fact about yourself.

Growing up I had a five-foot-long pet iguana and wanted to be a herpetologist (study of reptiles and amphibians). I even studied herpetology in university. 

Best piece of advice ever received?

Failure is the key to success: each mistake teaches us something new.

What career highlight are you most proud of?

The co-founding of Nimbus Synergies and its positive impact on B.C.’s health tech ecosystem and human health overall.
