Who or what is responsible for your work ethic?
I have been very fortunate to have been mentored by many high-calibre individuals, but my real work ethic comes from my parents.

Beer.
What is the best book you would recommend?
The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler.
Now that you are (or are close to) entering your forties, what goals have you set for yourself?
My newest goals are to be a good dad and to spend more time with my family.
What was your childhood career dream?
DJ.

What was your toughest business or professional decision?
I decided not to move overseas to open up a hotel, and instead chose to stay here and start my business.
What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?
Enjoy life every day and keep working on your goals.
What is your best habit?
Running.
Tell us one improbable fact about yourself.
I took up running during the pandemic, and ended up doing the equivalent of 50 marathons in the first year.
Best piece of advice ever received?
Life is short. Do what makes you happy. And think about how you want to be remembered.
Biggest learning (about life or business) during the pandemic?
It’s never too late to follow your ambitions. I will have completed my executive master’s degree in business administration all during this pandemic.
What career highlight are you most proud of?
I am proud of all of the agreements with Indigenous Nations, but a highlight was the official naming of the Salish Sea.
