Great Canadian Gaming Corp and the City of Vancouver have reached an agreement for a two-year extension to the operating agreement for its Hastings Racecourse property on the Pacific National Exhibition grounds.
Great Canadian vice-president Howard Blank said, “We wish to thank Mayor and Council and staff at the City of Vancouver for extending our current operating agreement and enabling us to continue to offer live and simulcast racing at the historic Hastings Racecourse property.
“This extension allows our company to work closely with the City of Vancouver regarding long-term operations at Hastings Racecourse without being concerned with a lease deadline looming.”
Hastings Racecourse has been operating at its current location for over 123 years and features live thoroughbred racing May to October, simulcast racing, food and beverage services and an electronic gaming slot floor.
The extension will be effective to November 2014. The current operating agreement was due to expire this November.
