The Vancouver Canucks have a new partnership with Scotiabank, which is now the team’s official bank.

The new partnership will finance fan support events and programs, community initiatives and grassroots hockey programs like the Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest – a free hockey festival for girls aged seven to 14 – and the Canucks for Kids Fund.

Scotiabank is the official bank for the NHL, Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames.

“Scotiabank delivers exceptional fan experiences with their NHL partners, which we strongly believe in providing to our fans,” said Victor de Bonis, COO for Canucks Sports & Entertainment.

“Together the Canucks and Scotiabank will support grassroots hockey in the communities we serve and connect with fans in new and exciting ways.”

“Whether you’re lacing up to play on the ice or watching from the bleachers, players and their families grow with and through the sport of hockey,” said Duncan Hannay, Scotiabank’s senior vice-president, Canadian marketing.

“It’s a sport that unites us with our community and it holds a meaningful place in the lives of Canadians and Scotiabankers. We look forward to what we can accomplish with the Vancouver Canucks."

The new partnership will be kicked off with Scotiabank-sponsored Canucks open scrimmage September 13 to 15 – a free, event that includes live scrimmages with Canucks players and prospective new players.
