I am proud to appoint Hayley Woodin as our next Editor-in-Chief, effective Jan. 1.
She joined Business in Vancouver (BIV) in August 2016 as a journalist and has been the editor of our magazines, a podcast host, event moderator and a regular contributor to Global’s morning program. She has been BIV’s Executive Editor since 2020. She is a graduate of Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s journalism program and this year earned her Master’s from the Columbia University School of Journalism in New York, where she was the class valedictorian.
She and I will trade editorial positions, so I’ll remain Publisher and take on the Executive Editor role. I’ll remain Vice-President, Editorial, of Glacier Media Group. As part of my new responsibilities, I’ll develop a larger commentary service for the Glacier chain. I’ll continue to write columns, host podcasts and events.
In the new year, technology reporter Tyler Orton will assume management of an expanded business news service for biv.com and the Glacier publications. Details on this service will be outlined in the weeks to come.
