Whistler Blackcomb's 2024 spring skiing season is just around the corner.

This winter season may have felt like little more than a four-week blip of decent snow, but the time is already coming to turn attention to spring operations at Whistler Blackcomb.

The mountain operator gave an idea of what guests can expect next month in a March 26 release.

Both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains will remain open for winter operations until April 14, after which skiing and riding will shift to Whistler Mountain exclusively, with Blackcomb closing for the season to accommodate lift maintenance requirements, and to continue on the Jersey Cream project, which will upgrade the current 4-pack to a high-speed 6-pack chairlift ahead of the winter 2024-25 season.

The final day for skiing and riding in the 2023-24 season is May 20 (conditions permitting).

“The energy on the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb has been fantastic over the last several weeks as we head into spring,” said Belinda Trembath, COO of Whistler Blackcomb, in the release. “Spring also brings us the opportunity to transition into a dual-sport season, where snow sports run in parallel with mountain biking. This year is especially exciting as we open Whistler Mountain Bike Park for its banner 25th-anniversary year.”

Throughout the spring, lifts will spin daily for both skiing and riding on Whistler Mountain. Sightseeing on Whistler Village Gondola is open until May 20, before shifting over to Blackcomb Gondola on May 21 through to June 14. The PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola will remain closed for maintenance before reopening for summer sightseeing on June 15. Find hours of operation here.

“We are so grateful to our amazing guests and community for their support this season, and we know we’ll end on a high note. I also want to thank the incredible Whistler Blackcomb team for pouring their heart and soul into what they do every single day, in service of delivering a truly exceptional guest experience,” Trembath added.

In thebike park's 25th-anniversary season, the newly upgraded Fitzsimmons Express chairlift will deliver increased uphill capacity, allowing five riders and five bikes to upload on the same chair for access to the popular Fitz Zone.

"On top of this, the resort is excited for the return of Crankworx Whistler from July 19 to 28, as well as many other events and celebrations throughout the summer. Whistler Mountain Bike Park is scheduled to operate through Oct.14," the release said.
