Vancouver International Airport has partnered with SSP Canada, an operator of airport food services brands, to install six new eateries at YVR.

Already opened is Lift Bar & Grill, which has been designed to pull in some of the same elements as the downtown restaurant of the same name. This original location has sat on stilts on the water in Vancouver’s Coal Harbour near Menchion Mews for the past decade.

“With the international departures area serving as a global gateway between Asia and the Americas, Lift Bar & Grill is a welcome addition to the worldly minded passengers of YVR,” said Michael Svagdis, CEO of SSP Canada. “We’re honoured to work closely with Chef Soojin Park and the Lift team to craft a stylish restaurant experience that truly delivers a memorable taste of Vancouver before passengers head to their next destination.

The restaurant is wrapped around the airport’s aquarium and has a “coastal waters” theme.

The other eateries SSP is planning to open include a Pajo’s Fish & Chips, a location of Vietnamese sandwich seller Banh Shop and a Freshii. The new locations will occupy a total of 14,225 square feet at the airport.
