The Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) has announced the Silver Award winners for its 24th annual Awards of Excellence, an industry event that honours the region's construction leaders.
Gold Award winners will be announced at the 24th Annual VRCA Awards of Excellence gala dinner, which is scheduled for October 17 at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Silver award-winning contractors and projects include:
General contractor over $40 million
•Graham Design Builders (Kelowna and Vernon hospitals P3 project)
•PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. (BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North)
•PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. (BC Place revitalization)
•Ledcor Construction Ltd. (IKEA Richmond relocation)
General contractor $15 million to $40 million
•Stuart Olson Dominion Construction Ltd. (Surrey Central Library)
•ITC Construction Group (UBC Faculty of Law Building)
•Graham Construction and Engineering (River Rock Casino Resort – hotel expansion)
General contractor under $15 million
•Syncra Construction Corp. (Musqueam Community Centre)
•The Haebler Group (Hillcrest Park Legacy Community Centre)
•Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. (Ocean Concrete – Granville Island plant, dock replacement)
Additional project-related awards will be granted in the trade contractor, electrical contractor, mechanical contractor, and manufacturer and supplier categories. At the October event, VRCA will also present awards for Member of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Educator, Innovation, Outstanding Woman in Construction and Sustainable Construction Award, and the WorkSafe BC Awards for companies that have developed significant safety-related programs or equipment.
