In Canada’s largest city, the average rent for a one-bedroom suite was $1,970 in the month – up 2.6% compared with November.
Two-bedroom rents remain considerably higher in Vancouver than in Toronto. In this city, the average rent for this home type was $3,100 in December, which is 26% higher than the Toronto average of $2,460.
Year-over-year, the average rent for a one-bedroom Vancouver apartment increased 10.6%; for two bedrooms, the jump was 2.3%.
