A buyer has been revealed in the US$374 million deal announced by Apache Corporation March 31.
Canadian Natural Resources Limited confirmed it is the buyer of Apache's natural gas assets.
Apache announced March 31 it had agreed to sell producing oil and gas assets in the Deep Basin area of western Alberta and British Columbia for US$374 million. The buyer at the time was not disclosed.
The assets are primarily dry gas producing properties comprising 622,600 gross acres (328,400 net acres) in the Ojay, Noel and Wapiti areas in Alberta and British Columbia.
The effective date of the transaction is January 1, 2014, and it is expected to close on or about April 30.
