Caterpillar equipment dealer Finning International Inc. (TSX:FTT) today announced that it has reached a labour agreement with the majority of its unionized workforce in Chile.

According to the announcement, Finning's South American division, Finning South America, has reached a new four-year agreement with three unions representing 90% of the company's unionized workforce in Chile.

The agreement replaces a previous four-year agreement, and covers approximately 3,600 hourly Finning workers in Chile. It is set to expire April 1, 2016.

Nobody at the company was immediately available for comment.

Last year, Finning employees in B.C. and Yukon went on a multi-week strike during labour negotiations between the company and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 692.

At press time, Finning's stock was down nearly 2% to $24.46.
