A B.C. junior gold mine executive has been fined $15,000 and ordered by BC Securities Commission to take a course on the duties of public company directors after admitting to making false filings.

Farshad Shirvani admitted to filing 13 documents for Casa Minerals Inc., Doubleview Capital Corp. (TSX-V:DBV) and Next One Capital Corp. that were "materially false," according to the BCSC.

Shirvani is listed as CEO of Doubleview Capital, a director of Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX-V:BGM) and Lionsgate Energy Inc. (TSX:LG) and president, promoter and a director Casa Minerals and Next One Capital.

In 13 documents filed on behalf of the Casa Minerals, Doubleview Capital and Capital Corp., Shirvani failed to disclose that cease-trade orders had been issued against a public company – International Ranger Corp. – when he was a director.

Shirvani has paid a $15,000 fine and has been ordered to complete a course of study within one year that covers the duties and responsibilities of directors and officers for publicly traded companies.

And until he has completed the course, he is prohibited from acting as a director, officer or promoter of the three companies, or engaging in investor relations related to the companies.

On Friday, Barkersville Gold Mines announced Shirvani had resigned as a director from the company.
