Vancouver-based Cupcakes is opening its ninth location November 15 in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby.

The bakery chain was founded by Heather White and Lori Joyce in 2002. The new storefront is owned by Valeria Ruilobo, who co-owns Cupcakes locations at Grandview Corners in Surrey and on Thurlow in downtown Vancouver, and Julio Ruiloba.

“We are particularly excited about our new Cupcakes venture because of the presence we will have in Metrotown Mall,” said Valeria Ruiloba.

“The energy in the mall is so enjoyable, making this store a perfect accompaniment to the surrounding environment.”

The new shop will have a different look than the other Cupcakes locations, with wood flooring and quartz countertops.
