Delta-based manufacturer North American Tea & Coffee Inc. (NATC) has merged with Mississauga-headquartered Associated Brands, a supplier of private-label and co-manufactured packaged foods.

Founded in Vancouver in 1977, NATC manufactures specialty teas and dry mix products, serving large retail and food service companies across North America.

Associated Brands said the merger strengthens its private label business, adding a portfolio of leading market positions and capabilities that includes ready to serve oatmeal and the fast-growing market for specialty teas.

Associated Brands CEO Scott Greenwood said, “As the largest independent specialty tea manufacturer, NATC leverages Associated Brands into a very relevant category which is being driven by a younger demographic and their orientation to health and wellness.”

Associated Brands has two manufacturing and research and development facilities in serving customers in Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean and Mexico. The merger will add manufacturing facilities in B.C. and Ontario.

The combined company will operate as Associated Brands.
