While Ikea shoppers refuel on Swedish meatballs between purchases, the furniture retailer wants customers to refuel their cars on electricity.
Ikea is installing electric-vehicle charging stations at all of its 12 Canadian locations, including the Richmond and Coquitlam outlets.
The home furnishing company announced July 9 it would have all the stations running by August 2016.
Ontario-based Sun Country Highway has been commissioned to install two of its SCH-60 charging stations at each outlet.
The charging stations, which are compatible with all electric vehicles on the market, will be available to customers for free on a first-come-first-serve basis.
