About 60 retailers who will occupy space in the under-construction Tsawwassen Mills shopping mall plan to attend a job fair June 25 and 26 to recruit more than 1,000 employees.
This is an initial wave of hiring for tenants in the Ivanhoé Cambridge-owned mall, which is expected to open on October 5. About 3,000 people are expected to work on the site once it opens.
More than a thousand other jobs will be created at the 550,000-square-foot Tsawwassen Commons mall, which is under construction next door to Tsawwassen Mills.
“The job fair is an important step towards the grand opening and will help connect our tenants with potential employees who are seeking a new opportunity to work for exciting brands,” said Mark Fenwick, who is general manager of the mall.
Tsawwassen Mills, which is on Tsawwassen First Nation land at the corner of Highway 17 and 52nd Street, named many of its retailers last month.
