Tsawwassen Mills owner Ivanhoé Cambridge on May 6 revealed many of the tenants that will fill its 1.2 million-square-foot mall, which is slated to open October 5.

Anchor tenants, such as the Saks Fifth Avenue outlet brand Saks OFF 5TH and the outdoor-activity store Bass Pro Shops, had already been announced.

Eleven newly announced anchor tenants include:

•DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse;

•Forever 21;

•H&M;

•Pro Hockey Life;

•Marshalls;

•Nike Factory Store;

•Old Navy;

•Sport Chek;

•Tommy Hilfiger Outlet;

•Urban Planet/West 49; and

•Winners.

Names of three more anchor tenants have yet to be released.

"It’s a great marketplace that is very active," Eric Watt, who is vice-president of new retail for Sport Chek, told Business in Vancouver after the announcement.

"We feel we’ll do phenomenally well in that area."

Watt said his company's parent, FGL Sports is so keen on the mall that this is why it is also locating its Pro Hockey Life brand in the centre. The Sport Chek and Pro Hockey Life will be in different locations, however, and neither are anywhere near as large as the 53,000-square-foot Sport Chek that is slated to open on Monday at the corner of Robson and Howe streets.

Other newly announced retailers at Tsawwassen Mills include:

•Aritzia;

•Banana Republic Factory Store;

•Brooks Brothers Factory Store;

•Browns;

•Calvin Klein Outlet;

•Gap Factory Store;

•Guess Outlet;

•Ever New;

•The Outlet by Harry Rosen;

•L’Occitane en Provence;

•Lucky Brand Jeans Outlet; and

•Marc Cain.

Restaurants at the mall will include Milestones Grill & Bar and Montana’s Bar & Grill.

The mall will be next door to a separate, 550,000-square-foot, under-construction mall that will be known as Tsawwassen Commons.

While Tsawwassen Mills is expected to have about half of its tenants being outlet stores, Tsawwassen Commons will not have any outlet stores.

Roman Drohomirecki, who is executive vice-president and COO of Ivanhoé Cambridge’s retail arm, said in a release that his company “continues to redefine the country’s outlet and value-oriented retail industry.”
